Installation Steps
Follow these professional steps for a flawless finish
Prepare the Base
Remove existing grass, weeds, and debris. Excavate to a depth of 75-100mm. Ensure proper drainage slope (1-2% gradient).
Use a weed membrane to prevent future growth. Compact the sub-base thoroughly.
Install Sub-Base Layer
Add a 50-75mm layer of crushed stone or decomposed granite. Compact with a plate compactor until firm and level.
The sub-base should be stable and allow water drainage. Check levelness with a straight edge.
Lay the Weed Membrane
Roll out geotextile weed membrane over the compacted sub-base. Overlap edges by 100mm and secure with landscape pins.
This prevents weed growth while allowing water drainage. Trim excess material neatly.
Roll Out Artificial Grass
Unroll the artificial grass and let it acclimate for 1-2 hours. Ensure pile direction faces the same way for consistent appearance.
Allow the grass to relax and flatten. Position carefully before cutting.
Cut and Shape
Trim the grass to fit your area using a sharp utility knife. Cut from the backing side for precision. Leave small gaps around edges.
Cut between tufts for natural-looking edges. Work slowly and measure twice before cutting.
Join Seams (If Required)
For multiple pieces, use joining tape and adhesive. Align pile direction carefully. Apply even pressure while adhesive sets.
Seams should be nearly invisible when done correctly. Allow adhesive to cure fully.
Secure the Edges
Fix the perimeter using galvanized nails or adhesive. Space fixings every 100-150mm. Ensure edges are flush and secure.
Don't stretch the grass too tight. Allow for slight thermal expansion.
Apply Infill Material
Spread silica sand infill (15-20mm depth) evenly across the surface. Use a brush or drop spreader for even distribution.
Infill helps grass blades stand upright and adds stability. Brush against the pile direction.
Final Brushing
Brush the entire surface with a stiff-bristled broom or power brush. This lifts the fibers and distributes infill evenly.
Your artificial lawn is now ready to use! Regular brushing maintains appearance.
